A ’26 for My 26: New Bronco Owner’s Story Gets the Bronco Community Talking
Sometimes the best Bronco stories aren't announcements from Ford, new patents or upcoming models.
Sometimes it's simply someone finally buying the Bronco they've wanted for years.
That's exactly what happened recently over on Reddit's r/FordBronco community, where a new 2026 Ford Bronco owner shared the story of finally taking the plunge — along with some great pictures of the new Bronco already getting a taste of the beach.
The post is appropriately titled “A ’26 for my 26.”

Admiring the Bronco From Afar
Reddit user u/QuietStormReadings explained that they had been admiring the sixth-generation Ford Bronco ever since it was introduced.
There was just one thing standing in the way: the idea of taking on the financial commitment of a new vehicle.
Eventually, friends and family apparently got tired of watching from the sidelines and encouraged the future Bronco owner to finally go get one.
The result?
A 2026 Ford Bronco, purchased August 28.
It was also the owner's first experience purchasing a vehicle — an experience they jokingly rated “0/10” — but getting through the buying process meant finally getting to enjoy the Bronco they had wanted for years.
More Than 1,000 Miles Already
It certainly hasn't been sitting in the driveway.The owner says they've already put more than 1,000 miles on the Bronco after moving up from a 2011 Honda CR-V.
They also took the Bronco to Galveston, Texas, for what they jokingly described as their first baby step into off-roading.
Rock crawling isn't on the immediate agenda, but that's one of the great things about owning a Bronco.
You don't have to conquer Moab on your first weekend.
Sometimes putting the Bronco on the sand, taking the roof off and enjoying the ride is enough.
And Yes, There's a Dog
Perhaps our favorite part of the story is the owner's four-legged passenger.
Their dog is apparently still trying to understand this strange new concept of riding around in a vehicle without a roof.
According to the owner, the pup wasn't initially thrilled about no longer being able to easily jump in and out of the vehicle, but he's beginning to adjust to life in the Bronco.
Other Reddit users noticed him immediately, with one commenter saying the Ruby Red Bronco looked great and that the dog appeared to be living his best life.
The owner later explained something that makes the purchase even more meaningful.
Their dog recently turned 10, and part of the reason for finally buying the Bronco was wanting to experience having their longtime companion riding shotgun while they still have that opportunity.
That might be our favorite reason we've heard for finally pulling the trigger on a Bronco.
Now Come the Modifications
Every Bronco owner knows what happens next.You buy the Bronco.
You tell yourself you're going to leave it alone.
Then you start looking at accessories.
The new owner is already thinking about customization, and apparently the current plan could involve plenty of leopard print.
They're also debating black, white or possibly even bronze accents for the Ruby Red Bronco.
And because the Bronco has the Sasquatch Package, we'd say they've already got a pretty good starting point.
Looking for a Bronco Community in Texas
There's another part of the post that caught our attention here at BroncoBusting.The owner mentioned wanting to find other Bronco owners around the Houston area, saying the closest Bronco group they had found appeared to be around Dallas.
That's exactly what makes the Bronco community so much fun.
The vehicle might be what initially brings everyone together, but trail rides, beach trips, events and friendships are what keep the community growing.

Someone spends years looking at Broncos, finally decides to buy one, puts more than 1,000 miles on it almost immediately, takes it onto the beach, removes the roof for the dog and starts planning modifications.
