2027 Ford Bronco Filson: Raptor Power, Sasquatch Hardware and a Premium New Direction for Bronco

Ford is taking the Bronco in an interesting new direction for 2027, and this one is much more than a special paint color and a few badges.
Meet the 2027 Ford Bronco Filson, a collaboration between Ford and legendary Seattle outdoor outfitter Filson that combines serious Bronco off-road hardware, a version of the Bronco Raptor's 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, and an interior inspired by some of Filson's best-known outdoor gear.
And with Ford releasing fresh information about the Bronco Filson as recently as September 24, we're going to keep this article updated as the new model gets closer to production and ordering.
UPDATE — September 25, 2026: Ford Puts the Bronco Filson to Work
Ford just gave us another look at what it wants the Bronco Filson to represent.In a September 24 feature, Ford followed Katelyn Johnson, a timber faller and certified arborist near Tahoe, California, who was given an early opportunity to experience the Bronco Filson in the environment for which it was supposedly designed.
Johnson already drives a Bronco Badlands with the Sasquatch package, making her impressions particularly interesting.
Her Bronco Filson test vehicle retained the familiar Sasquatch setup and 35-inch tires but added FOX remote-reservoir shocks and the Bronco Raptor-derived twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6.
One of the features that apparently stood out wasn't horsepower or suspension travel, however. It was storage.
Ford and Filson developed removable storage bags located in the doors and rear sport-bar area. They're made from water- and dirt-resistant material and use magnets rather than conventional snaps, allowing them to be opened with one hand.
That's exactly the sort of small functional detail we'd like to see in a special-edition Bronco rather than simply adding another logo.
This Isn't Just a Filson Appearance Package
When Ford first announced its partnership with Filson, it would have been easy to assume we were getting another lifestyle edition consisting primarily of special colors, leather and badges.Ford went considerably further.
Every Bronco Filson receives the Sasquatch package, including 35-inch tires and front and rear electronic locking differentials.
Ford also gives the Filson specially tuned FOX shocks with piggyback reservoirs, while power comes from a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 derived from the engine used in the Bronco Raptor.
Ford has not yet announced final horsepower and torque figures for the Filson version of the engine.
That gives Ford some interesting territory between the conventional Bronco lineup and the full-blown Bronco Raptor.
Raptor DNA Without Buying a Raptor?
This might ultimately become one of the biggest attractions of the Bronco Filson.The Bronco Raptor's 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 is paired here with Sasquatch hardware and upgraded FOX suspension, but Ford isn't trying to turn the Filson into another desert-racing Raptor.
Instead, the emphasis is on combining serious trail capability with comfort and premium materials.
The Filson also receives Bronco's Terrain Management System with seven G.O.A.T. Modes, Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive and a 360-degree camera system.
In other words, underneath all of that fancy Filson material is still a Bronco intended to get dirty.
Possibly the Most Luxurious Bronco Yet
This is where Filson really begins influencing the vehicle.The cabin includes perforated quilted leather, woven seat material inspired by Filson's Rugged Twill, a leather-wrapped instrument panel and steering wheel, brass-colored accents and removable Filson-inspired storage.
There are also:
- Ventilated front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Upgraded B&O audio
- Digital rearview mirror
- Power-deployable running boards
- Additional grab handles
- Improved acoustic glass and sealing
That could be a surprisingly important improvement.
We love Broncos with the roof and doors removed, but anyone who has spent hours driving a hardtop Bronco on the interstate knows that reducing wind noise wouldn't exactly be a bad thing.
Filson Styling Is Everywhere
Outside, the Filson gets a distinctive two-piece grille with bronze-colored details inspired by the hardware used on Filson products.Similar finishes appear on the wheels and trail sights, while the Bronco grille lettering receives a texture inspired by Filson gear.
One of the signature colors is Field Green Metallic, and honestly, it's difficult to imagine a more appropriate color for a Filson Bronco.
Other available colors are expected to include Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black and Oxford White.
But Ford has another trick waiting for collectors.
Only 2,500 Bronco Filson First Editions
Ford is also producing a special Bronco Filson First Edition, limited to 2,500 vehicles in North America.The First Edition gets exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint along with a special fender badge, additional Filson-inspired cargo storage and a serialized console badge identifying the vehicle as part of the limited production run.
If there's going to be a particularly collectible version of the Filson years from now, the serialized First Edition is certainly going to get attention.
Ford and Filson Actually Have Some History
The partnership isn't as random as it might initially sound.Filson dates back to 1897, when the company supplied equipment to people heading north during the Klondike Gold Rush. The company later became closely associated with forestry workers, outdoorsmen and the U.S. Forest Service.
Ford and Filson also previously worked together on the Bronco + Filson Wildland Fire Rig concept, so the production Bronco Filson continues a relationship that existed before this vehicle arrived.
Ford says Filson imagery was even among the inspirations used by designers during development of the current sixth-generation Bronco.
That makes this collaboration considerably more interesting than simply sticking a clothing company's name on the fender.
When Can You Buy the 2027 Bronco Filson?
This is the part we're watching closely.Ford has said ordering is expected to open in fall 2026, with production at Michigan Assembly Plant and vehicles arriving in early 2027.
