Anyone up for a Pine Barrens ride?

If anyone wants to do a Pine Barrens ride, March and April are good months if you never been. It's not too busy, not too hot [yet] and no insects. As long as it doesn't rain it is almost as perfect as going in the fall 😎

I've got several tours mapped out but the best one is a 30 miles loop around Basto Village area in Wharton State Forest. Super easy and you'll get to see a lot. There's even a couple of side places where you can test your Bronco skills.

If anyone is interested let me know and we can start tossing some dates around.

I have a sport and we are headed to Byrne state park today. I am always looking for trails in NJ that are sport friendly (I don't fear mush, but the big guys can handle bigger things)! Any chance you want to share your trail maps now and arrange a trip later?

There's a number of places I've been where having the width of the baby horsey would have been preferred 🤣 I'd be far more comfortable roll'n with someone with a Bronco Sport than an AWD soft-roader like a Subaru or Mazda. That said, a lot of places in the Pines are passable by those vehicles so you should be good.

My "rule" is that I'll share points of interests but not specific routes. Part of that is because I typically don't document them and part of that is because while most of the time I wheel alone, when I do wheel with someone, the route is the shared experience so I want to keep it as such. I think some off road apps may have routes shared by their users publically so you can check those out for routes.

Byrne State Park... I think you are referring to Brendan T. Byrne State Forest... HAVE FUN... there are some interesting places there I've been. I find that part of the Pines can be a bit more challenging that Wharton since there are more elevation changes but getting to a place like Hidden Lake will make it all worth it.
