At the southern tip of LBI (Long Beach Island, NJ) is the Holgate Wildlife Refuge and I finally got a chance to get back over there (after I confirmed it was open). The tag here is for off season (i.e. basically not between memorial day and labor day) but it was a warm November day and there were far more people out than you would think. Fishing is not required here but I drove about a mile down to just take in the view (seems like everyone fishing was all the way at the end).
