Ford is once again showing why it's a leader in customer care and vehicle safety—by taking swift, proactive steps to resolve a minor component issue that affects a small percentage of its best-selling vehicles, including the legendary Bronco, F-Series trucks, and Mustang.
In a move that reflects its unwavering commitment to quality, Ford is voluntarily recalling 850,318 vehicles from the 2021 to 2023 model years. The recall includes certain models of the Bronco, F-150, Super Duty trucks, Explorer, Mustang, and Expedition, as well as Lincoln's Navigator and Aviator SUVs. The goal? To address a fuel delivery issue before it becomes a concern for customers.

At the center of this action is a low-pressure fuel pump that, in rare cases—about 10% by federal estimates—could fail under specific conditions like extreme heat or very low fuel levels. Ford engineers discovered that minor internal contamination could lead to a loss of fuel pressure, potentially causing performance hiccups like rough idling or a check engine light. Ford emphasized that no accidents or injuries have been linked to this issue.
This all started back in September 2022, when Ford’s Critical Concern Review Group noticed an uptick in fuel delivery module returns. Ford worked closely with its supplier to implement improvements, which initially led to a reduction in warranty claims. But when new data came to light in mid-2024—thanks to just a few Bronco owner reports—Ford re-examined everything, got ahead of the curve, and issued the recall.

While a repair is still being finalized, Ford owners will be notified as soon as a remedy is available. Ford’s world-class dealer network will handle all fixes quickly and at no cost to customers. Notably, the Bronco (109,881 units) and the F-150 (455,261 units) make up the bulk of this recall—a testament to how popular and widespread these vehicles are.
For Bronco owners, this is just another reminder that Ford stands behind its products and continues to build some of the most capable, iconic, and reliable vehicles on and off the road. While other brands sweep problems under the rug, Ford faces them head-on—with integrity, transparency, and customer-first action.
